Rara Lake
Rara Lake is the largest lake of Nepal which length is 5 km and width 3 km and depth of 167 m. It is extended up to 10.8 sq km with an oval shape. The three endemic fish species, Nepalese snow trout
Rara snow trout and one endemic frog. Winter visitor water birds such as gad wall, mallard, northern shoveled common teal, tufted duck common golden eye etc. Lake is 167 m deep at some places and drain into the rivers Mugu Karnali Niguli Khola. Chuchemara hill at 4039m is the best vantage point to get the magnificent views of deep, blue circular lake and the forested hills as well as snow clapped beak around it.
Beauty of Rara lake is polished by blue clear sky, surroundings flora and fauna, different type of vegetation, migrated birds of Cyprian etc Murma top, chuchemara himal, kanjirowa himal, chayanath Temple, add beauty to its surroundings.
Rara National Park
Rara Lake being surrounded by Rara National Park which is by for smallest national park in Nepal .It has
unique flora and fauna importance with rare and vulnerable species.Park was established in 1976 to preserve the beauty of the lake.The flora consist of 1074 species of which 16 are endemic to Nepal’s found fauna includes 51 species of mammal and 214 species of birds, red panda, snow leopard Himalayan black bear deer etc are some mammal found in the place.Three hundred more species flower found which makes Rara national park attractive.
Murma village
We reached rara lake within 30 min from Murma village.It is historical model Village and prospect of tourism.There are 80 homes where 77 Chhetri and 3 low caste.It is surrounded by Rara National park. We produced barley, maize, beans, peas, honey etc. Through this village we can reach Murma top.
